After working with some of the highest caliber leaders in the world, both in the military and in the church, I’ve seen just how challenging it can be to develop yourself and your team. You started with a passion and a dream to see God do amazing things, but now you’re drowning in problems. How do you find more leaders? How do you find the time to develop your team? How can you grow yourself? Overworked. Over scheduled. Volunteers and staff leaving. Ever-changing priorities. I’ve seen it and I understand it. The struggle is real.

But it’s not insurmountable. The reason you struggle to develop leaders isn’t because you aren’t smart enough or strong enough or young/old enough. It’s not because you’re not enough. It’s simply because you haven’t been trained in leadership, you haven’t given the solutions to your problems, the proven strategies to overcome each of your challenges and become a leader others love to follow.

You can become a Leader Worth Following

I never dreamed I would be a Pastor, or that I would coach church leaders. My 23 year Navy career was focused on leadership development and I had every intention of pursuing Health Care Administration. Then, 3 years before I retired from the Navy, I was sitting down with a local church leader talking about how to lead his staff and I realized something. He had been given tons of training, guidance and coaching on preaching and teaching and almost no training, guidance or coaching on leadership. He felt like everyone was waiting for him to lead and he had never been told what to do.

That day I realized my dream was to help the church have the best leaders on the planet. So, I got my Master’s Degree in church leadership, got ordained as a Pastor, joined a church staff and got to work. Then God reminded me, there were lots of churches and Christian leaders who could use help. I pursued certification as a GiANT worldwide coach and a Working Genius facilitator and started coaching Pastors and Christian leaders.

I know the struggle of trying to develop your own leadership. And what it takes to develop the leaders of tomorrow. That is what I did in the Navy. And that is what I can help you do.

Using the GiANT framework, we will take your leadership to the next level and you will become a leader worth following.

One day the phone rings....

Imagine if one day your phone rings and the name on the screen is a team member you led 10 years ago. They say, "I just wanted to call and thank you. I have gone farther in my life and leadership than I ever thought possible, and that is because you invested in me." What if you knew exactly how to get there. What if every day you woke up with the motivation to grow as a leader, because your team was pushing you to lead at your best. Imagine, just for a moment, that you don’t have to constantly recruit new leaders, because your team is developing leaders from within. Sounds far fetched, I know, but it’s possible when you have the tools and support to become a leader worth following.

Steve is a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer with 23 years of Navy Leadership Experience. He is uniquely positioned to translate military leadership principles to a modern church context.
He has been trained as a GiANT Worldwide Coach, a Working Genius Consultant and has experience in strategic planning, leadership development, team dynamics, Lean Six Sigma and adult learning.
He has been a volunteer, a church member, a team leader, and a full time pastor, so not only has he been where you are, he has been where the people you lead are.
